Robert Walker, MD:  Hamlin

Dr. Robert B. Walker has provided primary care in West Virginia for 41 years at Lincoln Primary Care Center in Hamlin and was one of the two founding physicians. He is American Board Certified in Family Medicine (ABFM), Preventive Medicine (ABPM), Occupational Medicine and Geriatrics (CAQ). He served as the Chairman of Family Medicine and the Associate Dean of Marshall University Medical School for many years. He has published many scientific articles and book chapters. He currently serves as Vice-Chancellor for Health Sciences for the state of West Virginia in addition to his Lincoln County medical practice.

He is currently the Vice-Chancellor for Health Sciences for the state of West Virginia.  He is Board Certified in Family Medicine (ABFM), Preventive Medicine (ABPM), and Geriatrics (CAQ) and holds a Master’s degree in community health.

He is a graduate of the University of Florida, both undergraduate and medical school and holds a Master’s degree in community health.

Dr. Walker was named the Rural Health Teacher of the year for the Nation and was recognized as a “Distinguished West Virginian”, the state’s highest honor.
