Southern West Virginia Health System is pleased to announce the addition of Kerri G. Donahue-Wood, MD, to its provider team. She will see patients at three Southern West Virginia Health Breathing Center locations in Hamlin, Sand Plant (South Charleston) and Man, W.Va.

Dr. Donahue-Wood is fellowship-trained in pulmonary care and is actively accepting patients. In her role, she will focus on testing, diagnosing and treating chronic illnesses that affect the respiratory system. Such illnesses include asthma, COPD, black lung disease, pulmonary hypertension, interstitial lung disease and more.

Coming to Southern West Virginia Health System from Huntington Internal Medicine Group, Dr. Donahue-Wood has more than 10 years of practice experience in pulmonary care. She completed fellowship training in pulmonary and critical care at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia. She completed internal medicine residencies at Christian Healthcare in Newark, Delaware, and at the University of Maryland in Baltimore, Maryland. She earned her medical degree at the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine in Huntington, West Virginia. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Clemson University, Clemson, South Carolina.

According to the West Virginia Division of Health & Human Resources Bureau for Public Health, West Virginia has the highest per capita incidence of COPD in the nation. The addition of Dr. Donahue-Wood to its provider team expands Southern West Virginia Health System’s capability to meet the care needs for COPD and other respiratory diseases in its service area.

Southern West Virginia Health System has been addressing the respiratory needs of its patients for many years. Its Breathing Center in Hamlin is home to the Grace Anne Dorney Pulmonary Rehabilitation Center. Established in 2016, the Grace Anne Dorney Pulmonary Rehabilitation Center offers services from respiratory therapists that include spirometry tests, walk tests for qualification of home oxygen, pulmonary education, supervised exercise therapy and more.

Southern West Virginia Health System also operates a pulmonary rehabilitation center at its Man health center. The system further supports a Black Lung Program at its Man, Gilbert, Logan, Delbarton and Madison sites.

Andrea Byrd, LCSW

Behavioral Health Consultant:  Sand Plant

Andrea completed her Master’s Degree in Social Work from West Virginia University in 2004.

Upon completion of her Bachelor’s Program, Andrea began working in the Lincoln County School system as a school social worker.

In 2003, she joined Lincoln Primary Care Center as a graduate student.

Andrea was hired full time in June 2014 and is currently working as a Behavioral Health Consultant at our Sand Plant clinic.

Jacqueline Ranson, FNP-BC:  Sand Plant

Mrs. Ranson graduated from Poca High School in 1994 and West Virginia University (undergraduate in 1999 and graduate in 2001). .

Her certifications include Registered Nurse (1999), Master of Science in Nursing (2001) and Family Nurse Practitioner Certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).  Ms. Ranson worked for the Charleston Area Medical Center Hospitalist Group from 2001 until 2013 before coming to Lincoln Primary Care Center in 2013.

Ms. Ranson has received several awards and honors throughout her career including Heart and Soul Award Winner – Charleston Area Medical Center; CAMC Hospitalist Counsel Representative;;  West Virginia University Student Nurses Association Senior Class Vice President;  West Virginia University Presidential Award for Excellence in Scholarship; Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honors Society;  Vance Scholarship Award Identifying Future Nurse Leaders in Action – West Virginia Nurses Association; Golden Key National Honor Society; Phi Kappa Phi National Honors Society;  West Virginia League for Nursing Scholarship; National Collegiate Nursing Award; and West Virginia University School of Nursing “Art of Nursing” Leadership Award.

Ms. Ranson has is a preceptor to nurse practitioner students attending  West Virginia University, Marshall University, Mountain State University, Walden University and Alderson Broadus College.  She enjoys spending time with her husband and three amazing boys!  The family loves to go fishing and spend time outdoors.

Her passion is volunteering and doing missionary work in Haiti.  Her family is starting a mission in Haiti this year called Heart of the Mountain Mission.

Latasha Saunders, LGSW

Case Manager:  Sand Plant

Latasha graduated from Concord University in 2016 with her Master’s Degree in Social Work.  She is a Licensed WV Social Worker.  Upon completion of Concord University’s undergraduate social work program in 2012, she began working for the State of West Virginia as a Child Protective Services case manager until coming to LPCC in February 2015.  She currently works as a Case Manager at our Sand Plant clinic.
