DO stands for Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine. It means the provider has completed medical school with a focus on whole-person care and received a professional doctoral degree in medicine, allowing them to diagnose and treat illnesses, prescribe medications, and provide medical care. DOs also receive additional training in the musculoskeletal system and may use hands-on techniques to support the body’s natural ability to heal.
Pediatrics is a medical specialty focused on the health and well-being of infants, children, and adolescents, from birth through young adulthood. Pediatric providers are trained to diagnose and treat a wide range of childhood conditions, provide preventive care such as immunizations and well-child visits, and support families in fostering healthy growth and development.
