X-Ray

X-Ray Services

We are pleased to offer our patients the ability to have X-ray services performed on-site at seven of our locations. This type of service assists our providers with the necessary details to properly diagnose a minor injury or illness-related condition to determine the appropriate patient care plan to treat that diagnosis.

We value our partnership with Radiology Inc., who assists our providers with reading the X-rays performed by our staff of Radiologic Technologists, to give a thorough interpretation of what is captured in the image.

What is a Radiologic Technologist?

A Radiologic Technologist, also known as a Rad Tech, is a medical professional who performs X-rays on patients to create images of specific parts of the body, that are then interpreted by a provider for consultation and diagnosis.

What type of X-Ray service is most common to be performed at one of your locations offering this service?

Whether you have come to one of our locations in search of:

  • An acute care service, which involves being treated for a brief but severe episode of illness or minor injury
  • A hospital follow-up
  • A primary care appointment where a concern has been communicated and the need for an X-ray to diagnose the ailment has risen
  • A pulmonary care appointment where our specialist may need an internal image of the lungs to assist with diagnosis or to determine progress of a care treatment plan
  • You are being treated for an illness or injury where an x-ray was taken to capture a baseline image in a previous appointment, and a new image is necessary to evaluate progress

Your appointment might involve the need for an X-ray.

Does it hurt to have an X-Ray taken?

X-Rays are a non-invasive test, meaning that the procedure occurs outside the body. While some discomfort may occur due to the nature of positioning the body part in order to capture the image, an X-ray is typically quick and as pain free as possible.

Do you have Mammography services?

Mammography, an x-ray imaging method used to examine the breast for the early detection of cancer and other breast diseases, is a service that we can assist our patients with by making a referral appointment for them to receive this service at a location near them.

What if I’m concerned about the ability to pay for a Mammogram?

Don’t let the fear of financial concerns prevent you from talking with your provider about vital health screenings that could save your life.  We work with various organizations to assist our patients to receive access to health related screenings in a variety of ways.

  • The West Virginia Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Program is a comprehensive public health program that helps uninsured and underinsured women gain access to breast and cervical cancer screening services
  • Bonnie’s Bus offers mammography to women, men and transgender patients who have private insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, or those who qualify for the West Virginia Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Program.  Uninsured patients living in West Virginia who are 40 years of age or older can receive a screening mammogram on Bonnie’s Bus through the generosity of grant funding and donations
  • Many insurance programs including Private Carrier, Medicare, and West Virginia Medicaid provide financial coverage for screening mammography to facilitate the early detection of breast cancer

We encourage you to talk with your provider about the benefits of early detection of diseases that impact breast health and when you should have a baseline mammogram.
