Families In Touch (FIT) Camp
Families In Touch (FIT) Camp is a free weeklong summer camp for kids that focuses on providing children with a fun-filled way to learn about a variety of ways to have a healthy body and mind. Our 2024 theme is “The 7 Wonders of Water and Exercise”, where kids will participate in water games, focus on water in the body, and learn cooking skills. FIT Camp lasts about 4 hours each day, and children will experience fun sports and physical activities and will learn about making positive nutrition and lifestyle choices.
FIT Camp leader, Renea Christian, RN, MSN, FNP-BC, has more than 14 years of experience running FIT Camp in Lincoln and Mingo counties. She has been an integral part of the opportunity since its beginning.

They will participate in various outdoor activities that may include, but are not limited to:
- Water Balloon Toss
- Water Balloon Relays
- Water Bottle Throwing
- And more!
What should children wear?
Since your child may be participating in various outdoor activities, sports attire & tennis shoes are a must!
Why is this opportunity important to gauge the wellness of your child?
We have a success story to tell it best. One year a young boy of 8 received a lipid panel and glucose test free of charge, that revealed he had high cholesterol. By catching this through the screening process his mother had a starting point to learn of ways to improve his health. When Renea completed a sports physical for him at the age of 17, his cholesterol was under control based on the approach that had been taken with diet and exercise.
*Please note labs are not drawn on site at FIT Camp. Labs are ordered and services are provided at our Lincoln Primary Care Center or Larry Joe Harless Gilbert clinic locations.
