Leading the Charge: SWVHS CEO Joins Health Care Hall of Fame

Charleston, W.Va. – February 26th, 2025 – Lisa King Leach, CEO of Southern West Virginia Health System, has been inducted into the 2025 cohort of the prestigious Health Care Hall of Fame, presented by West Virginia Executive (WVE) magazine. This honor recognized Leach’s extraordinary dedication and impactful contributions to the health and well-being of the people of southern West Virginia.

The Health Care Hall of Fame, established in 2020 by WVE, celebrates leaders, innovators, and trailblazers within West Virginia’s health care industry. This year’s inductees exemplify a lifelong commitment to improving the lives of their fellow West Virginians. Leach joins an esteemed group of professionals who have made significant strides in areas such as pediatric care, rural health access, and overall community wellness.

“I am incredibly humbled to receive this recognition,” said Leach. “This achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire team at Southern West Virginia Health System, who share the mission to enhance the quality of health care for individuals across the region. It is an incredible honor to be able to contribute to the health and prosperity of our state.”

Under Leach’s leadership, Southern West Virginia Health System has played a pivotal role in advancing health care services across the state, promoting wellness initiatives, and addressing health disparities, particularly in rural and underserved communities. Her vision and tireless efforts have contributed to improving the quality of care and access for countless West Virginians.

The Health Care Hall of Fame induction and award ceremony took place at the University of Charleston on February 25th, 2025. This year’s class of inductees represents the best in the field, and Leach’s inclusion marks a significant milestone in her career of making a lasting impact on the Mountain State’s health care landscape.
