Southern West Virginia Health System provides confidential family planning services in accordance with federal Title X guidelines. Our program is designed to support individuals in achieving their goals through access to preventive care, medically accurate information, and a broad range of safe and effective options.
Through the federally funded Title X program, we provide access to essential family planning services for individuals regardless of income or insurance status. This program has supported communities across the country for more than 50 years and remains a vital resource for accessible care.

The Title X Family Planning Program is a federal grant program that supports access to comprehensive, confidential family planning and preventive health services. Established in 1970 through bipartisan legislation, Title X was created in response to declining maternal and child health outcomes and limited access to care, particularly for individuals with low incomes. Since its inception, the program has built and sustained a nationwide network of family planning providers delivering evidence-based health services to millions of individuals each year.
Yes. Your visit and medical information are kept private. We follow strict confidentiality standards, including additional protections for family planning services under federal guidelines.
If you test positive, our providers will explain your results, provide treatment when appropriate, and discuss any necessary follow-up care. Many STIs are treatable, especially when identified early.
Be sure to bring your photo ID, and, if applicable, your health insurance card for check-in. Also, have a list of any medications you’re currently taking, both prescription and over the counter, to share with our clinical team at the start of your visit.
